My mother and I have a long standing tradition of spending Saturdays in the early summer traveling our area searching for the best garage sale finds. She looks for practical, pretty, decorational things that she could possibly use around our home. New jewelry box, pillows for the swing in the back yard, knick knacks for the house. I look for the strange, obscure, interesting things that I find hilarious or super cheap that I can use for SOMETHING. Often, I buy things that are no good for anything until they are taken apart, or painted.

Some of my favorites:
1970 Electric Type Writer
4' tall jewelry box
My $15 desk
a house shaped shadow box
and so many others

One of my most recent finds are two sets of post card boxes, each contains 50 postcards which are photos taken from fashion catalogs during the 60's and 70's. Now I know you're thinking that sounds boring, but really, have you seen some of the catalogs from that time period? They're fucking hilarious. Here... I will show you, and while I'm add it, give you captions to laugh at while you look.

Women
OH Look... Buy these pants because they bring eager women to their knees!

Shirt
Why am I wearing this shirt?

Sand Trap
Sand trap. I can't imagine the chafing involved with leather clothing at the beach.

That's just three of them. There are countless other's with confused women, scantily cald men and just a mismash of ridiculousness. I'm going to be sending them out to a few people... so much fun.
